2023 in Review: Ungerleider Works Year 2

2023 was a busy year here at Ungerleider Works. We helped clients with a wide range of projects including podcasts, newsletters, consulting projects, ghostwriting, video and fractional marketing services.

During a challenging year for the marketing and public relations industries, we thrived helping our clients solve problems with impeccable brains and style.

Generative AI disrupting the marketing world? Check. Advertising budgets shrinking while the economy went all loosey goosey? Check. Layoffs meaning teams had to do far more with less? Check.

On a macro level, privacy concerns and stricter regulations such as GDPR and CCPA meant that we had to reconsider targeting efforts and help our cleints in prioritizing first-party data.

Social media platforms like TikTok gained popularity, while influencer marketing was as important as ever.

Economic uncertainty, of course, also played a part.

We helped marketers adopt more cost-effective approaches and focus on customer retention.

Sustainability and social responsibility also showed up, with consumers increasingly demanding brand transparency.

But… You know what? We did it.

500% increase in paid subscribers to Context Collapse newsletter with over 75 issues published, launched Small Agency Journal newsletter on LinkedIn and eight bespoke newsletter/email marketing projects for B2B clients.

Consulting:

Marketing consulting for fintech, adtech, cybersecurity, online travel agency and adult continuing education clients.

Ghostwriting:

Ghostwriting & thought leadership for cybersecurity, ERP, eco-friendly packaging, enterprise IT, adtech and adult continuing education clients.

Video:

Video scriptwriting for financial services clients.

New Projects:

Launched fractional marketing service offering clients on-call marketing and PR services.
